Enyimba Int’l Football Club continued their disastrous start to the domestic campaign on Wednesday afternoon after suffering a home loss to visiting Sporting Lagos in a matchday 5 encounter.
The nine-time champions suffered a humiliating 3-2 home loss against the Lagos side, meaning the Aba giants remain stuck at the bottom of the table without points.
Stanley Dimgba put the home team ahead just before half-time. However, Sporting Lagos restored parity six minutes after the restart through Abdulraqeeb Abdullahi.
The hosts briefly regained control in the 54th minute when Haruna Hadi converted from the penalty spot. Yet, the visiting team produced an astonishing comeback to stun the Aba crowd. Hadi scored his second goal in the 65th minute to level proceedings once again. Shortly after, Daniel Aboh struck the crucial winning goal in the 69th minute.
In Enugu, defending champions Rangers Intel FC secured a narrow 1-0 home victory over Ranchers Bees. Chidozie Iwundu proved to be the hero, scoring the solitary goal late in the game.
Barau FC claim top spot
Elsewhere, Barau FC moved to the top of the league table following a convincing win. The Maliya Boys earned a 2-0 victory against Abia Warriors after Joseph Atule and Ibrahim Ayoola scored the vital goals to seal all three points.
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars recorded a 2-0 home victory against Katsina United in Ibadan. Olanrewaju Ridwan opened the scoring before Qamar Adegoke sealed the triumph.

At the Pantami Stadium, Doma United surrendered a two-goal lead against Plateau United. Michael Adegbite put Doma ahead with an impressive first-half double. However, Gideon Monday and Paul Samson scored to rescue a 2-2 draw.
In Lagos, Inter Lagos played out a 1-1 draw against visiting Kano Pillars. Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa set up Ubong Friday for the opening goal. Nevertheless, Bashir Abdulkarim equalised for the hosts fifteen minutes from time.
Bendel Insurance secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City in Benin. Chinedu Nwosu gave Insurance the lead from the penalty spot before half-time. Aderemi Adeoye levelled for Ikorodu, but Alex Oweilayefa scored the late winner. Finally, Niger Tornadoes and Warri Wolves battled to a goalless draw in Minna.
